I just booked JL for early 2021 in J/F optimistically hoping I would be able to go. I saw that Alaska said they'll waive cancellation/change fees if the flight was booked between 2/27 - 5/31 for travel through 4/2021. Do I have up cancel by 5/31 if I decide to not go?

You can cancel, without a fee, up to the time of departure if your flight is before 4/30/2021. Miles will be returned to your account immediately and fees & taxes, less the $12.50 partner booking fee, will be refunded to the original form of payment.

Im in a similar situation as you, as I booked a one way return back to the states from KUL on EK.......my concern is the service isnt affected like cabin meals, in business class, lounge experiences, etc......Have you also thought about that?

Alaska rebooked me CHS-RDU-SEA on AS flight 963. Will I earn the extra miles - or since its the same flight number will I only earn CHS - SEA ? (And since when did they stop in RDU?

A direct flight (not non-stop) will earn MP miles calculated from the origin to the destination. It will not be the sum of the two individual flights. The new "tag" flights were added for compliance with the CARES act allowing AS to service 2 cities with one aircraft.

I am booking a flight using AS miles on CX, and the AS phone agent asked for passport info for me and my travel companion, which I did not have at the time of booking. She said that I should call back and provide. I don't remember having to do this before - is this needed? Or can I just provide this when I am checking in at the airport?

You can go to the CX website & manage your booking there. Use the CX confirmation number which you will find when looking at the flight details, second line, mobile APP; Partner Confirmation. Enter your Passport information under the APIS (Advanced Passenger Information System) section. No need to call AS back. If you have provided a middle name to AS you will need to append that to your first name without a space to pull up the CX PNR on their website. ie James Scott Miller will be jamesscott for given name.

Redeposit fee waived on award tickets? (purchased before 2/27)

Parents booked award tickets in late 2019 YYC-EWR (via SEA) for August and have decieded not to go.Will Alaska waive the redeposit fee? There was actually a schedule change as well that might do it. flight leaves at 1230pm rather than 150pm and gives them a longer connection in SEA. How long does the schedule change have to be to qualify on that basis?

60 minutes change in departure, so qualifies for a full refund not just a waiver of the cancellation fee.

Thanks thats what I thought will do that for them ASAP. Knowing my luck it will change again this time to a 59 minute difference and they won't do it.

What happened? As I read the CoC, it would have to be more than 60 minutes change in departure time.

If I understand correctly... He said his parent's departure flight changed by 80 minutes and was confirming that it was enough to provide for a cash refund (it is). He then followed that it would be his luck that before he could cancel for the cash refund, AS would change the time yet again, but to a time less than 60 minutes (59), thus prohibiting a cash refund.

I know that AA won't let you double book an award, just wanted to confirm with AS.

Chiming in late, I have done a few multiple award bookings on different AS partners, I even have two right now (same day, same departure city, different partners/connecting city and destination), with this whole COVID issue. I have never had an issue with booking or holding onto the award ticket up to about 24 hours before actual departure time.
