SFO-BKK itinerary on JL for July 3 was cancelled with no notice. Looks like JL has cancelled both flights (SFO-NRT and NRT-BKK). No sign of a miles refund. Knew this trip was likely not happening with Thailand moving very slowly to reopen, but still not especially well handled by JL or AS - how hard is it to send a cancel email and refund my miles?

Besides, how is AS supposed to know a flight has been cancelled in Asia today when it is still yesterday in North America? roflmao!

JL F availability
I looked on Asia miles(CX) and i found open dates but when i selected them i would get an error saying “redemption class y is not valid on this flight”. This happened for dates i found in april and june. So maybe there’s changes being made for all JL partners? Seems out of the blue. Maybe in prep for the olympics?

Re F bookings in April: there is something wierd going on which I don't think is AS related.
AAdvantage is trying to book into A class, but errors out when you try to book it. Prior to April AAdvantage is booking into Z class as normal. And as @KVS says there is no availability for JL members in April.
Hopefully things will return to normal soon.

Anyone knows if Tokyo-Guam flight is bookable? Seems weird to me since Seoul to Guam by Korean Air is bookable on Alaska website but not JAL.

AA and AS use SABRE, JL is using Amadeus I believe. Maybe something's broken after 4/1 for SABRE?

It looks like JL is blocking F past April 1st.

Japan Airlines arguably has the best all-around first-class product with strong availability for partner booking, but new data points discovered by the team at Juicy Miles leads us to posit a disheartening possibility: Could Japan Airlines be limiting first-class awards to only JAL Mileage Bank Members?
We’ve searched extensively to find JAL space on a wide variety of routes. The Juicy Miles team has been unable to find Japan Airlines award availability at any point past April 1, 2021 on partner programs. Availability is visible on JAL Mileage Bank, but not on partner programs.

JMB could be blocking partners, as an incentive to its own members (SQ, AF do it too).
Or they may be doing it to drive consumption of JMB miles, considering the stockpile of miles that JBM members have retained due to the prolonged stoppage in international travel.
both of these, are of course speculation!
this cycle of rumours, panic, lots of talk and speculation, and then quiet once the matter is solved, is quite common and nothing to be alarmed at.
