What are downsides to using AS miles for American Airlines flight?

I just booked JFK-SFO-LAX-DEN for 25K (x2 for two passengers) and am pleased with the value. AA business, AS first (SFO-LAX), AA first. Lounge access at JFK will be a nice plus, besides the flat seat for a 6 hour, 52 minute flight. I will miss AA a lot when those redemptions go away.

You get a free stopover on AA too. Something that AAdvantage members don't get. I flew YLW-SEA(AS)-PHX(AA)/3 days/PHX-GDL(AA) in F for 25K last June. Excellent redemption. With AA is was possible to select MCE seating for Elites with a little workaround. 
I have the Citi AAdvantage Executive CC which gives free checked bags & group 4 boarding so starting with AA or after a stopover, it wasn't really an issue for me.
