When is exit row PE and when is it not?

I am confused. Is exit row (17) premium economy seating or not? On a recent purchase, it lists it as premium economy. However, on a recent flight it was not. I ask as I do not remember getting premium economy class snacks when sitting at 17F - just one free drink (as a 75K). Is it a Boeing / Airbus thing?

Exit row seating on Airbus - PE or not?
Exit row seating on 737 - PE or not?

davistev Row 17 (and 16 on some aircraft) will be Premium Class on most Airbus aircraft that have not been retrofitted (321neo is an exception). On 737 exit row is not PC.

Thanks for that - I can see why I was confused. That explains why sometimes I get these $20 email service vouchers for a downgrade when my seat was the same and also why I had to pay for my extra beer on some flights, and some not. I just brushed it off as an inconsistency of service. In the whole scheme of daily problems, arguing over a beer is not on my priority list - so I just went with the flow. I am glad I never made an isue of it all and Flyertalk cleared this up for me.
