Looks like the miles do not count as EQM, but still may want to route a transcon via CA!
Thanks! Just moved a FLL to SEA flight to FLL to LAX so I get to benefit from this!
Thanks. I registered for my October trip.
This is gonna be fun - I'll be flying at least monthly between NYC and LA on AS this year
Another high profile travel blog catches up:

Looks like I'll get an extra 10-15k miles this year from this promo. Very cool, and I'll definitely be moving more of my travel to via CA to take advantage of this promo.
stacks well with the fast-track to status promo (I still don't like that promo but this definitely helps)
sweet, i'm already flying those anyways. thanks for the miles!
Seems I need to go work on some routings ;)
Wow - good thing I checked FT tonight. My first RT transcon for this year is in the morning and qualifies, and I have another already booked for later this month.
Can we register for this promotion if we are also registered for the Coast to Coast challenge that gets us to Elite status faster if we fly 2-4 RTs between March and May? I'm assuming since this is mileage earning and not status earning and the dates are different, I can register for both? Sorry, I just read the blog and it stated that there are two promotions, so my question is answered. Thanks for this thread.

What if I fly JFK to Honolulu via LAX (same ticket)? Will I earn double miles on the JFK-LAX segment?
