On longer flights, Alaska distributes tablets loaded with movies (free in first and premium classes, $10 in economy.)
Wouldn't mind one of those goodie bags. Looks like canvas with leather handles.

So far the only real "upgrade" to the product that I've noticed from photos at least (maybe the seats are slightly better than what's on the 738s/9s?) is the cup holder in the tray table in premium class. That would be nice to have, and it's kind of a shame they didn't just roll it out throughout the main cabin.

And the bags were nice! High quality canvas with leather handles, and some pretty nice goodies inside too

I believe the bags at the event are these same ones AS sells online:

Alaska plans to convert four planes to the new interiors each month beginning in March, said president and CEO Ben Minicucci, bringing 85 percent of its 71 ex-Virgin Airbuses and 36 percent of the airline’s total fleet to the updated seating by early 2020.

Bottom line is: numerous downgrades / reductions presented as "customer-centric enhancements." I doubt VX enthusiasts like expulsion of integrated IFE, F pitch reduced by 15", lumbar support / massage / adjustable legrests gone, etc. I flatly do not believe the predicted 75% upgrade rate for Gold/75k. Actual rates will of course be route-dependent. And I would rather drink Drano than a "Cranberry Ginger Turmeric Smoothie."

55" inch pitch in standard domestic F is why I started flying paid F out of SFO on VX/AS for all but NYC. With pitch reducing to 40", there's really no reason to stay on AS versus any other airline ex-SFO and lots of reasons to fly other airlines to select cities -NYC, FLL, BOS, etc, where much better products, usually at lower cost are available. At 40" pitch, why not just buy coach on whoever is cheapest and pay a few bucks extra for Y+.

One big reason: miles. If I book a $300 transcon with UA or AA I bring in 2,000 miles with my lifetime status. Book the same ticket with Alaska and I'm bringing in 11,000 miles. Take away the miles and I probably would go back to UA and AA for the better schedules and networks, but for right now I make good use of those Alaska miles and want to keep doing that as long as possible.
