Baggage Allowance on Domestic QF flights
I have a cheap domestic flight on QF (qantas) and it does not give me any free checked bags, it wants to charge me $39 for each of my 2 legs - does anyone know if MVP status would give me free bags (not connecting to an international flight)

The only listed Qantas benefit is lounge access for MVPG and 75K members.

Link--->Checked baggage | Qantas AU Link--->http://www.qantas.com/au/en/travel-i...mestic-flights Baggage is included on every Qantas fare. Your included checked baggage allowances are determined according to your itinerary and are displayed when you make your booking. <snip> What web site are you using to purchase? Use the "au" QF web site ---> https://www.qantas.com/au/en.html |
Is it possible he's on Jetstar instead of Qantas? I've avoided them so far and stayed on Qantas for my flights, but doesn't Jetstar charge for bags?

Summary: First bag up to 23kg free, 2nd bag AUD $78, so make sure you are under your allowances. If it is a Jetstar flight, you can purchase online, more expensive at the airport. We flew DRW-DPS. The cost for checked baggage online for two was more than the airfare for one. James in Woy Woy. |
If it is jetstar presumably there’ll be squat in terms of other AS elite benefits (eg no lounge access etc)? |

JQ flights (JQ flight number) came up a starter fare, which included checked baggage. [Was more expensive than QF flight] On the JQ web site the base fare would be without checked baggage. All Au airlines (QF VA JQ TT) have been checking carry-on in recent months QF forum link---->https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/qant...lie-cases.html

I would agree, while the lounge was closed when I departed DRW, I was denied access on a QF operated LA Marketed flight out of SYD. No problems in SYD, MEL, BNE, HKG on native QF flights. Domestic flights gain access to the Quantas Lounge while international flights gain access to the Business Lounge for AS Elites MVPG+

I am on QF 861 from OOL/SYD
connecting to QF 1425 from SYD/CBR with a 2hr layover in Sydney On the ticket it says included checked baggage 1 x 0kg/lb which implies carry on, only to me - and then when I go to purchase a checked bag they want to charge $39 per segment flight booked on QF Australian site |

Apologies for reverting back to a "qu" after having correctly referenced Qantas many many times. I do know that it is an acronym for "Qeensland and Northern Territory Air Service".
