Raining at SAN

Ok, so this isn't as exciting as the SeaTac in the snow thread, but it's raining today in San Diego, which qualifies for irrops here...

I see several cancellations and significant delays (6 hours). My own flight today was delayed 4 hours. AS cancelled their morning SFO flights, so connecting folks are getting unlucky.

Both KOA and LIH flights diverted to Oakland, but maybe that's just the fuel stop?

Since we'll never get snow, this is as exciting as weather will get

I wonder if SFO weather impacted that flight. Local ABC news just reported over 100 flights have been cancelled at SFO today, mostly commuter flights going up and down the coast. FAA currently showing average arrival delays of over an hour (no delays reported at SAN).

Just landed in SAN a couple of hours ago (MCI-SAN). I don’t fly as much as some of you, but I have put in around 30-40 flights a year for the last three years.

This was easily the worst flight I’ve been on. It was rough coming out of MCI, and it was incredibly rough coming into SAN (also, they switched runways today). I bet we only had about an hour of smooth ride in the middle. It was about 4:20 long.

Quite the time for a mid-con.

Lots of strong head and tail winds aloft...

Imagine what would happen if it ever rained in SEA, BLI, or PDX -- those airports would close for hours! /s/
