What's happened to award flights on AA?

When attempting to book AS miles on AA in First Class, I find it's no longer possible to book a connecting itinerary with both segments booked in F. Inevitably one of the segments, it appears usually the longer one, is a coach seat. This started around the first of the year and seems to coincide with an AA switch that changed the way certain segments in first were booked with miles. Anyone know anything? Given the consistency it seems like a glitch.

It's been like that for a few months. I've been watching a few different routes and the only thing that ever seems to be available on long haul flights with AA is coach.
