SeaTac in the snow - 2019 edition

Flying into SeaTac late tonight (11:30 PM) ... any predictions on how much impact, if any, the snow will have?

Check out the NWS Seattle Twitter for good information. If Sea-Tac does get any snow tonight, I would expect any delays to be Monday morning rather than tonight.

more issues likely for those (like me) departing on tonight's redeyes in terms of traffic getting to the airport, as well as de-icing prior to departure

I thought this was more of an issue affecting PDX...forecasters are saying the snow arrives around 8pm tonight....should be an interesting Monday morning commute

snow just started (just northwest of downtown Seattle) -- big wet flakes, not sticking to anything but the grass so far

AS 700 7:40 am departure to PDX pushed to 11:00

Right now we have been in the plane since after our 7:10 am bus boarding. Delayed fueling, inability of tig to push in the snow, 6 planes in de-icing queue.

9 inches this morning in hills above Bellevue. Looks beautiful but, certainly more than the predicted 2-3 inches. Flying out tomorrow morning. Hope plows make it up here today. SEA reporting cancelled flights this morning. About 70 flights cancelled so far.

@wonderlaw — nice typo in the post title :/

SEA-JFK last night (DL) pushed about 10 min late and sat for about an hour for deicing ... blocked in at T-12 for my DCA connection, but it had actually been promoted by 10 min so I got to kill 2+ hours in the JFK Sky Club waiting for the next one

I am on the AA flight to DFW at 3:39pm (had to switch flights from AS because alternate flight was too much $). Inbound on time. Hopefully things will clear out a bit by then. I am not sure what the de-icing rules would be. If precip has stopped for a preceding amount of time and aircraft is clear of snow/ice, is de-icing needed? I look forward to getting to Dallas and 75-80 degree weather right now.

Had a telecon with PDX this morning - they were expecting a snow day but all had to go in to work because it's not even raining. Apparently the latest forecast has them getting precipitation later today/tonight.
