New MVP questions about earning AS miles on AA

Hello AS friends. I'm an occasional AS flier who just became MVP on AS earlier this year after a YYZ-DXB-SEZ-DXB-YYZ flight in EK F I'm also Delta Diamond/2MM flier who recently relocated from SEA to MSP.

We ended up after some lengthy flights in AS F close to MVPG. I just had a quick question about earning on AA. I have gone to the Mileage Plan partners page and i just wanted to make sure I'm understanding things correctly.

I saw that as of 2018 no domestic AA flights earn AS Mileage Plan Elite Qualification miles unless they are AS marketed (and sold).

Can someone confirm for me if I book a ticket on AA (marketed and sold) on a route like MIA-GCM-MIA that i could earn AS Mileage Plan Qualification Miles on those segments ( I know its a short route, but its international and I know it only said US and Puerto Rico was excluded.)

I just want to make sure a routing like this should earn AS miles.

Thanks for your help,
jacksafar
