I believe that San Diego/Tijuana and El Paso/Juárez are the 2 busiest border crossings in the Western Hemisphere, so perhaps border patrol and customs employees would frequent the route?

I looked at non-stop flights between Tijuana and Juárez, but it’s only served by Volaris once a day. Either there is not a lot of traffic between the two cities, or maybe there’s an opportunity to pick up traffic from Mexico as well?

Tijuana - San Ysidro is the single busiest border crossing in Western Hemisphere, perhaps the world.

Ciudad Juárez - El Paso is somewhat different as there are more crossings, including at least one or two pedestrian only bridges over Rio Grande, aka Rio Bravo del Norte (commonly just Rio Bravo) south of the border (very little known fact in Texas).

This is exactly the kind of strategic move a major airline makes!

No major airlines are fighting each other to made these adds. What exactly is the strategy to which you are referring?

For pleasure? No, but a nonstop option will be nice. It may or may not last, and I’ll use it while I can. Maybe their strategy is to attract people like me?

A few times actually. Mostly for work (past tense).

Also a stop on WN flight during my road warrior days - due to winds we took off to the south and entered Mexican air space before heading west. Had a nice view of Ciudad Juarez.

It's got some hidden gems and some things that are...well...odd. I'll be interested to see how the AS Marketing folks promote the town.

All flights launching west will cross in to Mexican airspace. Going off 22 will actually send you "deeper" into Mexico, since there's a giant mountain off the end of the runway.

It's about a close as you're going to get for a direct shot to Big Bend National Park. I'll take it!

Eh, I was being sarcastic. Wasn't excited by the add, myself.

Flyertalk needs some kind of emoji to indicate sarcasm. Sometimes it is hard to tell--especially for those that are willfully blind to a company's shortcomings
