ANC Ground transporation

Arriving into ANC around 7 pm on an Alaska flight. No checked luggage. The plan is to find the nearest taxi stand and take a cab to the hotel. Do AS flights typically arrive at the same terminal, and approx how long is the walk to the taxi stands outside? thanks!

Does ANC not have Uber? Taxis are so 10 years ago...

Follow signs for ground transportation, which will take you into a tunnel UNDER the first few lanes of traffic then up the escalator to the island for cabs. If you call an Uber it will pick you up on the departures level - you select the door you want it to come to on the app.

Yes, we have Uber and Lyft now and they can pick up at the terminal in the ride share area.

I think Anchorage is the only city where I don't mind the taxi cabs.

But that said, I still use Uber when I'm there.

The tunnel is for the rental cars.
just walk outside of the baggage claim and out to the middle platform for taxis. You could also take the people mover bus if going downtown. 2 bucks!

ASEFlyer May 25, 2018 1:46 pm

there's also a tunnel to the island. It's the tunnel to the right...which accesses the parking garage and the island. the left is for rental cars.

the taxis in anchorage are the worst.

trektheusa May 25, 2018 3:01 pm

maybe that's true. but it's faster just to go out the door! it's like 20 feet

This...is very true. I haven’t gone near one since Uber and Lyft started operating.
