The only one spreading silly rhetoric is you. The bottom line is that Alaska does not pay for alternate transportation as part of it's service policy. I am sure there may be an isolated occurrence, but it will be rare, at best, perhaps to make a connection to a foreign partner at SFO. But weather is weather, and it is what it is. Misconnects happen, and they are dreadful. The bottom line is that Alaska has made the business and operational decision to do it this way; you are free to make your flying choices knowing this occurs. As a practical matter if you are in downtown SF and you are altered to Oakland, BART will get you there, reasonably timely. If that option does not work for you, you can make a phone call and Alaska will do their best to either: (1) put you on a later flight out of SFO, (2) a later flight out of San Jose, or (3) a later flight out of Oakland.

I have never once had any push back when I was booked out of SFO and the change of airport to San Jose did not work well for me. My only constraint was availability on those flights in Oakland. It didn't work well that day. Life went on.

So I stick to my previous statement that no one is saying that Alaska doesn't pay for (or provide) a bus, but whether AS will pay for alternate transportation if you miss/can't make/don't want to take it.

To claim others are spewing conspiracy theories or fake news when taken out of context is a bit much for this board.

Not too much of an impact today. The 0910 departure SLC-SFO has been diverted to SJC and the 1147 SFO-MCI is now departing from SJC.

Due to WEATHER / LOW CEILINGS, there is a Traffic Management Program in effect for traffic arriving San Francisco International Airport, San Francisco, CA (SFO). This is causing some arriving flights to be delayed an average of 1 hour and 2 minutes.

Some flights diverted today that we don't usually see.

AS2790, the 1152 SNA-SFO, has been diverted to SJC

AS 400, the 1405 PDX-SFO, has been diverted to OAK

AS2707, the 1418 SFO-SNA, is now departing from SJC

AS379, the 1700 SFO-SEA, is now departing from OAK

Worst delay so far is AS1743, the 0800 SFO-SEA, which departed at 1230 (edited: now scheduled at 1330). Lots of delays in the hour range. Also, two incoming SFO flights cancelled (due in from SEA at 1311 and due in from LAS at 1600).

Due to WEATHER / LOW CEILINGS, there is a Traffic Management Program in effect for traffic arriving San Francisco International Airport, San Francisco, CA (SFO). This is causing some arriving flights to be delayed an average of 2 hours and 14 minutes.

Air quality isn't too great either due to smoke. I can't see Mount Diablo from Benicia today.

Wow, how did I only have a 20 ground hold on LAX-SFO with 2 runways down at 5 pm? I saw the big X on 28L as I landed and was amazed that there weren’t more planes waiting to take off.

Noticed that the latest (10/3) IOS app update mentions rerouting flights to avoid delays or cancellations. I assume they're talking about these SFO->SJC/OAK diversions. Says changes will appear on the Trips list page, Reservations details, and flight status pages.

Has AS had to cancel any flights? Or have diversions to OAK been sufficient?

I'm scheduled for OGG to SFO on Monday. I don't really care if they divert me to OAK (getting to the city from either airport is about the same) but if the flight gets cancelled, that's different. Finding last minute accommodations in OGG can be challenging (hotels are routinely sold out).

Not that I wouldn't gladly spend an extra day here!! "Working" from Maui... I just want to look into my options.
