Fri 19 Apr — rewind, play

at T-6 the FA offered to hang my jacket; I asked her outright “What’s the chance of getting a glass of sparkling wine before we depart like you’re supposed to be offering to First Class?”

she was speechless for a second, said “Let me ask about that” ... and brought it to me about 2 minutes later

Did she ask herself? Or did you hear her ask another?

Wondering the same. who does she need to ask? If it is policy, why would she need to clear it first?

Probably not Siri..

I'm guessing it was either one of the Y FA's and she checked with the F FA, or checked with the pilots to see if they had enough time.

Ah, the joys of homonyms. I first read this as "assisted the lead" as in the metal, thinking "yah, I've had that flight attendant too."

4/20, 10:20am AS2881 (Horizon) PDX-PAE
Coffee offered, in addition to a (chilled) water bottle

4/20, 6:00pm AS2882 (Horizon) PAE-PDX
Sparkling wine or orange juice offered, in addition to a water bottle. Beverage orders were taken while on the ground and delivered shortly after reaching 10,000 feet.

Exceptional Horizon crew on both flights.

Very wild the inconsistency of it my last dozen flights now no drink or drink offer. As previously noted there was that stretch at the end of last year beginning of this year where I got one on 7 out of 8 flights. Really confusing why there is no consistent policy but as others have said I guess we need to assume there’s no pre flight drink and if we get one it’s a happy surprise and will lead to me attempting to tip the FAs.

I have noted that the drinks are more common with horizon flights and honestly the service is always better too lately!

Ridiculous. Recipe for disappointing and annoying pax. They can't handle doing two different PDB schemes consistently, and they're going to add a third, all with the limited options which don't quite make sense?

They are pronouncing it correctly. You're just spelling Sham Pain incorrectly.
