do u think it is a mistake on LA part? even discount Y earns 100%. is there anyone from alaska to look into it?
It’s been this way for a very long time. Unfortunately, it’s not an IT oversight, it’s in the contracts that the airlines have with each other. (Whether that original sin was an oversight or not, I don’t know, though I assume it was.) If an earning rate and cost to the operating carrier wasn’t negotiated and included, there’s nothing that makes the rates for Y imply anything about P or any other bucket.
There are also some business fares that don’t earn mileage with AS. That burned me a few years ago. If I’d realized, I would have credited to AA for that flight.
You can certainly register feedback at www.alaskaair.com/feedback to let them know this is a priority for you as a customer. My hope is that the new contracts that include JJ (and maybe 4C?) that they’re supposedly working on finally close some of these holes.
Whenever new fare classes come out they don't get added until the new negotiated agreement. So until TAM flights are included the new fare class wont be added. I remember when AA added i believe its either O or Q , it was a few years before it started to earn. I now i had to waste time trying to upfare to earn points.
