Here's the deal with ATC delays and QX. Because an individual QX aircraft does multiple trips into SEA every day, when ATC starts delaying, the delays become cumulative. Its not a big deal for DL who may do one or two trips into SEA in a day, but a bigger deal for QX who may do five or six trips into SEA in a day, picking up delays every time.

QX could solve this by substantially increasing the turn times of aircraft, building in an additional 30-60 minutes every flight....but that would be super inefficient use of aircraft and crews and result in system-wide reductions.

It seems the regional jets get the short end of the stick on delays (particularly on weather) and also maybe because of their short distance, they can get subjected to ground holds. The longer mainline flights seem to be less affected but I have experienced slow downs or loops (particularly on AA) coming in.

So, I avoid any regional jets in/out of SEA at this point. It won't get any better as more aircraft are allowed in. With new N gates coming, even more traffic coming. Insane.
