We recently moved to Winnipeg and I have 90,000 miles in my Alaska Air account and my wife has 60,000 miles in her account. We are trying to use these miles towards 2 Business tickets to London next summer. Can we combine the Alaska Airlines miles with American Airlines miles (63,000miles) or United Airlines (42,000 miles)? American no-longer accepts Alaska Airlines miles from Winnipeg. Is there any way to deposit our Alaska Airline miles into a mileage program that transfers to an International carrier?

Points aren't really combinable between programs. points.com you can sometimes combine points between programs but the conversion rates are so bad that the become mostly worthless. Your only real option is to buy a separate ticket or separate award using UA points to get to either an airport served By AS or AS Partner that serves London.

It is only 400km (250 miles) to Fargo ND. You can use your AA miles to get from there to an AS Partner gateway city. You could even get from FAR on an AS award using AA metal so FAR-LHR is a possibility if you can find space. The surcharges on premium BA awards to LHR make them pretty much worthless for me.

Hello,

How can I use the Companion Fare while booking for the whole family?

If I add our kids then error showed up "The Discount Code entered is valid for 2 travelers only. Please select 2 travelers or clear the code to continue without a Discount Code."

Thank you!

Unfortunately you can't book more than 2 on the same reservation with a Companion code. You'll have to book the others separately, or on additional Companion code(s) if you have them. Suggest you book one adult & one child on the itinerary with the Companion code, and the other adult & remaining children on the other. That way, if something should happen, all children will be kept with an adult automatically.

Then tie the separate reservations together so you stick together as a family should anything happen :-)

When you pull up your reservation on the alaska website. top right of the Flight summary section is a link that says "Link Reservations" You enter the other itinerary name and confirmation number.

NRT falls under Asia for CX awards so North America > Japan is

F = 70k
J = 50k
Y+ = 35K
Y- = 30k

Should be possible - you'll need to call in though.

If the AS flight schedule change by >1h since booking, will AS let you cancel the flight for free?

I have noticed on my flights this year that a few days (not sure of the exact window) before a flight, I can select a Premium Class seat for no charge. But on the day of travel, it goes back to having a charge for selecting that seat.

Are these bugs or features?

I'm not sure about the day of departure charge, but no charge part sounds like the T-72 "upgrade" window for Golds on GTRW fares.
