This is the 2nd or 3rd time i've seen half-sandwich. i don't think that is an official meal. i think they are shorting passengers. it's especially ridiculous on a 5 hr flight

Red-eye (after 8pm) premium transcons (Hawaii, NE, FL, DC area) get soup/half sandwich and a snack basket. I'd wager that 99% of passengers don't want a full meal on a 5 hour red-eye

Even with half a sandwich, that's actually an upgrade from the small fruit/cheese plate you use to get on the Hawaii red-eye flights....flew LIH-SEA red-eye last July and it was still the fruit/cheese plate.

Yeah, I neglected to noticed this last post was a red eye flight. the other two flights (one was my own) were dinner time flights (5:30 pm-ish departure)

I couldn't agree more, and the soups have actually been great!

Or from Y, where there’s no F&C plate at all. Just the basic snack boxes or other individual snacks.

AS #543 from LAX to PDX on 12/7

Choice of protein plate or turkey sandwich (same one posted up thread). I really enjoyed the sandwich. They warmed it up enough to make the cheese deliciously melty and I thought it was far superior to the (cold) roast beef sandwich I’ve had on recent flights

Agreed! I would happily trade the mixed nuts for some potatoe chips or snack mix

AS 1420 LAX-JFK F/Class

Date of Flight: December 5, 2018
Flight Number and Route flown: AS 1240 LAX to JFK
Aircraft: Airbus A320-200
Time of Departure: 11:30pm
Length of flight: 5 hours & 20 minutes
Class of service: First
Meal served: Late Night Snack
Meal Description: Focaccia sandwich with chicken and pesto sauce, along with a bowl of lentil soup. I think I got the full sandwich because I was the only passenger consuming the late night meal. There was no hot towel towel service and pre-arrival snack basket.

No Dig E Player because personal TV still works on this former Virgin America's A320.
AS blanket was provided but no pillow!

Flight Number and Route flown: AS 176 - JNU-SEA
Time of Departure: 5:16 AM
Length of flight: 2 hours 32 minutes
Class of service: First
Meal served: Breakfast?
Meal Description: Meal service was a snack basket. FAs apologized multiple time about it. Items available were more appropriate for a afternoon snack. Very disappointing.

Flight Number and Route flown: AS 165 - BUR-SEA
Time of Departure: 7:00 am
Length of flight: 2 hours 25 minutes
Class of service: First
Meal served: Breakfast
Meal Description: No options given - there was only one meal type available, and it consisted of a yogurt cup, some granola, a bit of fruit and a cold roll. Very disappointing. I know I've had egg dishes and hot breakfast on this flight before, so this feels like a downgrade of service to me.
