Time the upgrade cleared: Did not clear. F2 U2 at T-48, but changed to F0 U0 shortly thereafter. Plane took off with first class full and me as #1 on the waitlist. This was a voluntary downgrade on an F award ticket, and I was supposedly on the "priority waitlist" which according to the CSRs doesn't mean squat for U space, only A space. Oh well!
Enjoyed some grilled MahiMahi here on the island.

Some data points - mom was hospitalized at the end of January and I had to move a bunch of flights - grateful for Alaska's cancellation and refund policy for MVP golds and 75K, this would not be an option on AA. Grateful that mom is also on the mend.

Got PC though in seat 6A, nice legroom, didn't miss the extra seat width too much, and had BBQ at Dylan's BBQ Saloon so didn't care about what they were serving.
All told 3/4 for upgrades in 8500+ miles of flying as an MVP over two weekends as the big push for MVPG requalification (sorrynotsorry @beckoa), and the one fail was to PC. I'll take it. This upcoming weekend is a trip to Vegas which will seal the deal (and I actually don't care very much if I am upgraded).

2/12 PHX-PDX 6a departure: No UG for me. Was awake for all of 20 minutes on the flight, comfortably seated in a PC window (that has more legroom than F, it seems).
2/14 SEA-PDX 910p departure: Bought F for once since it was roughly the same price.
Dear Alaska, fix your evening YVR departure time by 20 minutes so one can hit the 9p bank of departures out of SEA. Had to fly Widget Co to make it home tonight!
