11/10/18 SEA-DEN AS 672 MVPG waaay down a list
11/12/18 DEN-SEA AS 369 MVPG waaaay down a list
I had little hope, this is a route that's hard to get an upgrade on as a Gold. I ended up in 6C for the return flight because the fare basis was high enough for instant PC. But exit row or 6C/D are fine.

Haven't had luck with MVP upgrades this year, but also been on a lot of elite heavy flights. But I have gotten the exit row successfully on all the flights - so I am not too perturbed.

I think this goes in this forum:
Flight 561 BUR-PDX
I am MVPG wife is MVP We had LINKED but separate reservations as we both had wallet funds to kill
I was UPgraded at T-22 but wife was not, phone agent said she would not be and that linked reservations do not both get upgraded together. Hmm

Are there different levels of status within an elite status?
Months ago my partner and I booked the same flights from PDX to ORD this week. Same ticket class, booked within 5 minutes of each other. I have had AS MVP for several years now but haven't yet requalified for 2019. She only earned MVP for the very first time about two months ago.
At T-36 hours she gets an upgrade. There's 9 seats empty in F, but no U. I figure great, I'll probably get the next U.
Fast forward to T-24, all 9 seats in F are gone and I'm 7 on the wait list. No upgrade.
What happened? Both MVP, same ticket class, booked minutes apart. Yet clearly there was a large gap in our placement on the list. Does AS give new elites priority to entice them into the program or more priority to elites that have qualified in the current year already? I find it really hard to believe that at least 6 but as many as 15 people were between her and I in the list.

SAN-FAT
AS 3478
MVP Gold 75K
G Fare
E-mail notification of the upgrade arrived 11 minutes before the T-24 hour check-in time.
There were only two seats occupied in First Class before the upgrade arrived. This is by far the longest wait I have encountered for an upgrade on this flight. Usually, the upgrade arrives at T-120. IMHO, AS seems to be holding upgrades until closer to flight time more than in the past.

Flight 822 OGG-PDX redeye with a 10:35pm departure, was upgraded over 48 hours out but it was a S fare purchased 10/10 and I have MVP. There had been tons of empty F seats, and the one next to me even flew empty on the flight to PDX.

AS(VX) 1345
75K
Fare Class (M)
Upgraded after already sitting in row 6 very happy and excited for first time experience in FC on an airbus.
Date purchased May 16 2018
Was seated in 1A, got coffee once service started, then breakfast, then dishes cleared. After that for the entire 5 hr 56 min flight the FA sat and played on her phone, she did get up twice in response the a call button from guy next to me to ask her to reach his wife's bag down (both were very infirm elderly people that needed assistance) On the second call I was able to catch her attention and get a club soda with lime. I have had better and more frequent service on a SEA PDX flight! No other person rang a call button so it seems as if this is the norm. NOT impressed with this experience at all.

AS 352 SEA-OAK
T fare, MVP75K
4 of 26 on WL
cleared at T-60
AS get help. I'm really worried about you. Did you really think 12 people were going to buy F seats at the last minute. BTW when I booked this trip 2 weeks ago, I couldn't use a GGU.
