I Need XXX Miles by XXX Date - 2017 and Later
The year is ending and just realized I am 14k miles from MVP 75k. Not much time left to get 14k miles so I was hoping someone might have some suggestions.
Ideally, I don't want to spend a ton of $$$$ for a flight to get those missing miles so I am hoping there might be some decent turnaround flights that will get me there. I have the remainder of the year of from work so I can easily do multiple segments and turn around flights. Thanks for the help. Cheers! |
it would help to know where you’ll start your trip(s) ... a lot more options from SEA/PDX/LAX/SAN than SMF/RNO/BLI/BIL

If the AS only 75K bucket, this isn't just a matter of one round trip. Even if you buy first and get 175% eqm, you still need a base of 8K round trip to get 14K. And that won't come cheaply. The 50K bonus miles are arguably worth $750+. how much are you willing to spend? |

Are you accruing eqms in the AS only 75K bucket or the AS and partners 90K bucket?

How much money you got. You are taking about $1500 minimum if you are working on the AS threshold. if you wait until January you could almost knock out Gold through end of 2019 for the same price.

Just start plugging in dates
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...-12-17;a=AS,VX If you can leave tonight you can knock out the first ~4843 miles and be home tomorrow before noon for $488 https://goo.gl/flights/255E |
cheapest way to earn 3800 miles
Hello,
New guy here. A co-worker suggested this site to help find the most miles for the least amount of money. I currently am a MVP with Alaska and would love to hit Gold before the end of the year. I currently have 46,200 miles of the 50k needed with the partners option. I have been looking at flights but they seam to be cheap on the outbound and rake me through the coals to fly home. I am hoping to do it as cheap as possible and fly on the same day. My home Airport is Seattle SEATAC airport. Thank you for any suggestions. Troy |
I personally wouldn't bother with trying to make up a 14k mile deficit for 75k. If you were going MVP -> Gold, I would probably recommend it, but Gold -> 75k isn't a big increase in value. Gold already gets you free changes, companion upgrades, and 4 upgrade vouchers.
I might spend $500 or so, but as mentioned earlier it'll probably be close to $2k. Are you going to get 2k worth of value from the bonus miles and the 4 extra upgrade codes? |
If you can find it, SEA-LAX/SAN-East Coast rt in "P" will get you somewhere between 10-12K. SEA-SAN-Hawaii rt will get close, but more expensive.

I didn't look into any partner (AA) options, but found two one-day itineraries on AS ... imo $600-650 is a bit steep, but at this point in the year there really aren't many other choices
Wed 27 Dec, $265 outbound + $386 return, 4200 miles
