Sale on Award Tickets - January-March 2018

An unadvertised sale has a ton of flights on sale for less than the prices listed on the award chart.

I have provided more info on my blog: https://singleflyer.com/2017/12/05/s...award-flights/

Below is a list of the city pairs on sale and their current sale price for many flights in January through early March:

Yeah, but I need SFO-MCO in April for 12,500. Right now, it's 20,000. But, really no seats appear purchased yet. Does that mean it may come down? Tracking last Summer and Fall, it seemed a 12,500 mile award window would appear 3-4 months out. That's what I'm assuming would happen in 2018 but maybe not at the busy time?. I guess is there a science when awards are 12,500 /20,000/30,000 related to seats sold by? or if it's 20,000 now and a popular destination at a popular time of year won't come down. Right now, first two weeks of March for that non-stop flight are basically 12,500. And then early May again, already 12,500.

Thanks, of course you know my plan. Being outside Easter week, what I was wondering does the lack of sales at certain milestones open up more rewards or at reduced amounts? Or they know they'll eventually sell tickets at a high $$/award amounts.
