Just finished booking my last few flights for 2017, 6715 BIS miles in Dec which should bring me to 855,814 BIS. That leaves me 144,186 miles to go, which since I typically get 95-115k per year will take me 1.5 years before getting it. I know I am very tempted to try for getting it next year by adding in some MRs but think that about 44k might be a bit too much in MRs - :haha!

Never sick of travel, I love the whole experience thankfully. No wild trips for me though, BUT - I have used my miles to fly family out to NY and FL for events. Its a nice way to use those miles

I was sitting in 6D last night on a OAK SEA flight, the guy in 6F was less than 3k from hitting MM. He said it will happen next week on his DEN trip but he was not all that excited about it. He was not sure what would happen if anything. It was interesting chatting with him, especially about being in the "back" LOL.

I have a significant amount of award travel this spring, so doubtful by summer. 3 Int'l trips in F (one direction in J). Not sure if I can take it all right now, but that has my vacation sucked up pretty good. Might be this year or next.

Beckoa came to MSY to escort me home on my 1MM flights (along with another friend) 18 months ago. I think he has be a bit jealous and pushing to get to 1MM just to keep up since then. He will most definitely pass me as my travel patterns slow into retirement and he continues his epic run into the AS record books. 2018 will most likely be my last run at 75K.

Oh it was great, nearly every flight was upgraded into F or domestic and J for intl when on UA metal. When i did it I was worried because it was during the CO merger but never had a single issue. I got a several chances to fly long haul premium awards on some of *A's best carriers. F on SQ (not suites ), LH, TG, OZ & NH and J on NZ, OZ & BR. All thanks to a few glitches and the insane routing rules of the pre-deval chart.

I finally attained MM status this year - 33 years after I first joined Mileage Plan.
I'm not one that craves or even requires any kind of recognition but everybody at Alaska - from phone to counter to onboard the plane - has been super kind and I think genuinely appreciative of my rather prolonged patronage. I also really enjoy the free meals which I was unaware were also a perk. ^

Even though I've been an MVPG or 75K for well over 10 years running, I'm still a long ways from MM status. My travel is typically a combination short hops on Alaska combined with international travel on partner airlines. I average between 80 and 110 segments a year on Alaska metal but the short hops just don't add up to any sort of significant miles. Therefore, it will probably take me another 10 years to achieve MM status and I hope to be fully retired long before then!
Kudos to all the MM's out there. Anyway you look at it, that's a lot of seat time in Alaska metal.
Happy Holidays!
