Award seats cannot be booked between Australia and the US.

JAL has migrated to Amadeus 11/16/2017 and has experienced glitches in both their reservations, systems, and partner availability.

The following JAL JMB forum threads may be of interest to AS Flyertalkers, however questions or issues regarding partner availability or partner ticketing should remain in the partner forums:

33.3333 to be more precise or 33 1/3 to be precise precise! lol, I don't purchase Miles but might be a buyer with a 50% slash. An EK F to South Africa would be a little less chewy!

Booked EK F to Tanzania with a stopover in Dubai back in 2016 for a trip in 2017. Did so about a week before the massive deval. Was a nice once in a lifetime opportunity.

Are you suggesting that the AS Partner Award online booking engine, or a an agent, denies available seats to people who do not fly regularly with AS? I hope not!

I'm not even sure how they would program something like that. Airlines aren't known for their cutting edge technology.

If something like that were happening it would more likely be that status flyers call an elite line and get experienced agents who are more likely to know how to book partners while no status folks get whatever agent is available which may be newer agents with less experience who do not know the quirks of the AS booking system.
