New route: Seattle-Pittsburgh starting Sept. 6, 2018

The PIT airport social media team just said there's a new west coast nonstop route about to be announced later today, but you can already book AS 198 SEA-PIT and AS 199 PIT-SEA starting 9/6/2018.

Alaska 198
SEA-PIT
8:25am - 4:10pm (4h45m)
Boeing 737-800

Alaska 199
PIT-SEA
5:20pm - 7:50pm (5h30m)
Boeing 737-800

Distance: 2,118 miles

Very exciting to see Alaska Airlines come to Pittsburgh!

With MDT having no scheduled passenger service to anywhere west of ORD in the schedule today, you had better be a patient man.

interesting ... when I tried to book "Miles and Money" the system gave me a red flag saying "PIT is not an AS city; please select a different destination or use Miles Only" ... so I used Miles Only and got an option saying "Also available for 10,000 miles and $94.60"

The companion cert also gave me some issues- but I managed to get it thru somehow. ^

Cool. A great city to visit. That will create another connecting point via Condor to Frankfurt. Condor flight depart PIT 7:55pm. It will be too late, however, for return from FRA as Condor flight arrives PIT 6:05 pm (as of nov 2017).

If DL was still AS partner, DL/AS might have added another transfer point for a seasonal nonstop to CDG via PIT. Not an option currently....

Good grief! PIT is a great city, but you could say similar things of many cities that AS serves. Certainly, if PIT is chosen for Amazon HQ2, AS will be flying there a heck of a lot more than once time daily.
