New 737-900 config question

This might have been discussed before but is AS re-configuring their -900s to 12 in F and 156 in Y and removing a Y lav? I just booked a ticket for April and the seat map showed this configuration? That is a really low seat count for a -900.

Just an example you can dummy book PDX-LAX on April 10th and the first flight shows this seat map.

Sorry if this has been discussed before.

No, they're not. -900s have 16 F. -800s have 12 F.

It's probably a dummy configuration because they don't know if a -800, -900 or -700 is actually flying the route five and a half months out. This way you don't sell 13 F on a plane with only 12F.

Oh ok that makes perfect sense. I hope it goes to an -800 personally. Need to get on the Boeing house colors or the Starliner 75!

Aircraft 73J is a "hold in" plane. AS doesn't firm up the schedule until 90 days prior.

73J's will sell 12 F and 156 in Y.
