DL Jfk sea F Upgrade list

An airline with frequent 60+ eites on the upgrade list, i wasnt surprised when i found myself as 38 of 38 as DL silver (FO) with 0 available, on a 739 sunday night flight jfk-sea.....oh wait, itll be 40+ by daybreak....

AS’s morning flight upgrade roster currently is 19 long, also on 739.

while flight time and seat configuration do play a role on the flight booking but often, DL gold and silver dont often have a chance for upgrade on jfk transcon.

2 hr prior update: Now 45 of 48 people on an upgrade list with 0 available on a 739. 180 passenger aircraft with more than 70 elites.... (counting 20 passengers already in F), thats 1/3 of passengers. Complimentary upgrade they advertise for these flights is only a show.... unless you are a diamond spending annual $12,000 on DL or soon to be eliminiated annual $25,000 amex spend.

This is all true. However - I'd personally rather have an evening departure sitting in coach than an early morning east coast departure with a possibility of flying in fc. My internal clock tends to live in pacific time, and waking up around 4am ET (1am PT) is absolute torture.

However, If Alaska's JFK-SEA flight departured later in the day, it would change the equation for me (although the difference in terminals at JFK would still be a factor).
