Flying with companion, now I need to fly earlier on same day...procedure?
My situation:
Flying EUGSJC on the QX nonstop with my partner. just learned I need to be in SF earlier in the day for work, which means QX/AS through PDX. I'm not concerned with the flight cost, just concerned that my partner might have issues with the itin if I am not there. I'd rather not pay the change fee for my ticket, but rather book a new one-way EUGSFO and have her remain on the pvs itinerary. What's the most drama-free option here? Call AS? No status but I fly them fairly often. TIA.

I have some experience with this issue. A couple of questions:
Are you the primary traveller or the companion on the itinerary?
What is your whole itinerary-is this the outbound or a return?
Do you have elite status with Alaska and if so, is it MVP, MVPG, or MVP75?

Is this a companion fare (buy 1 get 1 cert)? If so no you must be on the exact same flights.
If this is not the companion fare. Then what you do should not have effect on your partner. If this is a RT your return will also be cancelled. it may be best just to call and cancel yourself from the reservation. There is a cancel option that bypasses the "My wallet" where you do not have to pay the fee at time of cancel, only at rebooking.

Then no issues then. Book your replacement flight, then call in to split your existing reservation and cancel your portion like CDKing wrote. I'd ask the rep to put you on the new PNR so your partner doesn't have to keep track of a different PNR.
