So in case no one noticed, the Alaska fleet page has been changed as far as the seating charts. It now says, "This diagram shows the seat map for our Airbus A320-214 (sharklet) aircraft. Note: as we gradually reconfigure our planes over the next few years, this seating configuration may vary."

So has Alaska moved the reconfiguration to "a few years"?

I was also scheduled to fly on a Max in July but things happen. I see no way that 58 planes will be reconfigured in 52 weeks.

I agree. I'm kind of surprised that they are able to have so many aircraft out of service at one time, but there must be enough slack in the schedule that it can be done. I see that the A321s are doing a lot of west coast flying lately, so the arrival of 929VA helped out with that. 930VA was flown to Dresden, Germany on 7/1, where it remains, undelivered. Someone mentioned that Airbus uses a company in Dresden for cabin outfitting from time to time, so maybe that is what is going on.

What I'm confused is, based on that call, why bother reconfiguring the A319s that are due to be returned next year?

I suspect that they may extend the leases.....given the MAX issues....AS should be seriously looking into keeping them longer and taking the 320neos.....this fleet mixture despite the teething with AS and airbus....is a blessing given this unforseen MAX issue. Diversification can be good in this case!
