Yes, it is extremely early. A normal period between shop visits for a engine would be about 7-9 years. It was an engine change to install a updated version to address the durability issues with the LEAP 1A.

KING-5 news reported the flight as AS1323/10JUN SFOSEA. Despite reports stating it was an A319, Flightradar24 indicates the aircraft as A320 N365VA.

Stuff happens. Also, “strong smell” can mean many things. Including that inconsiderate person who farts. I believe there was a case where a plane diverted because of a passenger farting.

I had a 3 hour mechanical delay at MCO due to FA smelling something mid cabin. It was just normal smells from AC system when water mixes with dirt and exhaust and such.....it was a 319 - N530VA (gogo dancer)......at least i sat it out in F class....

I would expect the post delivery prep to take about 10-12 days. The aircraft is delivered with the cabin installed - now buyer furnished equipment is being installed, such as safety equipment for the cabin like portable oxygen bottles, first aid kits, various placards, galley equipment, etc. Also, I think that the WiFi system is installed as well. 930 had a first flight on 6/13, so delivery should occur by the end of the month.

Yeah, they're less than 20% of the way through the airbus fleet at this point. At this rate, early 2020 seems ambitious.
I wonder if the delays with the MAX will impact the reconfiguration schedule? Maybe they were counting on having a couple of those planes starting next month to allow more swap outs and speed up the schedule this summer?
