Anyone else a bit surprised it’s taking 2+ months per tail to retrofit the new interior on the airbus fleet? Are they doing the cabin mods along side a Heavy maintenance check?

how was the new blue mood lighting utilized during the flight? Blue ceilings And walls at the same time? Or white on ceilings with blue walls/ vis-a-versa? Is it just on or off or is their a dim blue/white like on the sky interior?

in reference to the gogo issues, did this preclude streaming the Alaska beyond entertainment?

The new seats are better than the 737 F cabin seats, in my opion.

They're obviously new, have more support, are a little bit more firm, and have easier-to access power ports. The foot rest makes a big difference in comfort as well. I prefer the new Airbus F cabin seat's cupholders and tray/table setup as well. There are small pockets on the seat side interiors as well for placing items like your phone.

I don't plan to sit in Row 1 anymore though.

I don't recall how the lighting was used, as the flights were redeye/early morning.

For Gogo, they were recommending passengers download the Gogo streaming app to watch movies prior to boarding at the gate. I don't know how well the app worked. I was given a Digital Player/Tablet in F after asking about the non-functioning Wifi service.

I think that heavy maintenance checks are being done in conjunction with the cabin mods on some of the aircraft - at least I think that was the case with 628 and it seems 631 as well, judging by how long it has taken. It will be interesting to see how long the cabin mods take on 928, which is not due for a heavy check, being so new - that should give us some idea how long the cabin mods will take on aircraft not scheduled for a heavy maintenance visit.

A few quick thoughts. The new seats are generally nice. They're new!

The reduced recline over the Virgin America deep recliners is very noticeable. Likewise the reduced legroom is very noticeable with the new third row.

The bulkhead seats for Row 1 are now my least preferred seats in the first class cabin, as they lack the footrests found in Row 2 and Row 3 and also lack underseat storage.

The cabin divider is at least nicer to look at than the well-worn Virgin America configuration with chipped away materials.

Other note. Gogo Wifi Internet service on this aircraft was totally out. The Access Point was on, and connectable but always returned server errors throughout both flights.

Ugh! The photos won't come thru, did you remove them?

When using imgur you need to remove the https. I fixed the images for you to reduce the sizes and add a link to the full size image.

631VA exited GSO today but does not appear to have the updated cabin, going by the seat map on the AS website for flights assigned tomorrow.

I was just booking a flight DCA-SFO in May, and am seeing this seat map. Its an Airbus, but with only three rows of premium? Seems odd, or is this a 319?

That's a 321 that frequents that route.

I think I'm getting a re-configured A320 for my flight on Thursday.

Another data point about how they're handling PC:

I had selected a PC seat (17A). I woke up to an email today: "We're sorry, Premium Class is no longer available."

Due to an aircraft switch, we are unable to accommodate your Premium Class seat and your seat may have changed. You'll be seated in the main cabin. We're working to upgrade more of our fleet for future flights.
Looking at the seat map (I had screenshots before and after), it looks like they simply left everyone in the same seat. So I got 17A on the new plane (now just an exit row instead of PC), while the people who had chosen seats in rows 7, 8, and 9 all got automatic upgrades to PC for free.

The good news is that PC wasn't full, so I was able to select a new seat -- and the email AS sent me contained a $25 discount code.

5 hours later and we've been switched back to an old-style A320. Another "Premium Class is no longer available" email, and another $25.

As the number of reconfigured planes in the fleet increases, I imagine this is going to become more and more common.
