I had read on another website that deliveries of Leap engines to Boeing were running behind schedule, so I'm wondering if that is what is impacting the delivery date of N929VA. The latest pictures available show the engine nacelles taped up, so no engines have been installed as of yet. Also, the Airbus Hamburg site has run into some manufacturing bottlenecks due to the multiple types of A321s entering the production line in terms of door configurations/interior layouts - still fine tuning everything it seems, so between that and the late engine deliveries, I don't think Airbus has been able to deliver the aircraft on time.

Flew on my first A320 this past week between SEA and PVR and it was horrible. Hung out at the pool with some flight crew laying over and chatted about this. None of them were fans and stated that inability to cater correctly and do meal prep led to regular service failures. I think these were all AS long timers but didn't ask specifically. I remember hearing the old Virgin configuration was comparable to or possibly better than the Alaska offering but I don't see how that is possible with this configuration. FC was a tiny little fishbowl. WiFi barely worked on the first flight and came up as ViaSat on the second but was inop as far as I could tell. Service windows took forever and were limited due to insufficient catering. Is this normal? Will do everything I can to stay off this config in the future.

Ooo! Maybe it's the first AS Airbus post-merger special livery? One would presume, with the cross-brand contracts still live that new Giants and Disney special liveries are on the way. Would certainly make some sense for those to go on Airbuses.

According to the AS Fleet Status, it’s going in for a repaint. My guess is there is a defect on the paint that went unnoticed or something.

The question is are they going to be actual special liveries or is it just going to be a vinyl wrap. I honestly don’t like the way the new special “liveries” have been going with Alaska. I know it’s cheaper and simpler to do a vinyl wrap, but it doesn’t feel as special to me.

Oh absolutely! I used to love the Timbers Jet 737-700 because it had a great blend of colors, and I’m from Portland, too. Sadly, what used to be the plane that you’d almost always see in Portland now is based almost exclusively in Alaska. But now, when I first saw the More To Love on the 737-900ER, I fell in love with it right away. And seeing it on the Airbus looks just as fabulous.

There are a few pics of 636 on the net and I haven't noticed any obvious paint defects - would love to hear from people in the know what exactly was the repaint defects were. At least AS is getting their $$$ out of the vendor!
627 is scheduled to exit cabin mods tomorrow - we will see if all goes as scheduled:
