A little late to the discussion, but thought I'd chime is as longtime Continental / Alaska and later United and merged United flyer.
Yes, UA did like to swap planes, including CR7 to CR2, where one time my CR7 exit row turned into nonreclining seat next to lav on CR2
One of few things (besides combined lifetime miles all of sudden being north of 800K miles) that "you are going to like" was renumbering of ALL planes shortly after merger (CR2 was excluded) to bulkhead as #7 and exit rows to 20 and 21 (some numbers were obviously skipped due to fewer seats on some models). This very simple shift made the life of a lot of people much better.
That is always a problem, especially with last minute aircraft changes. Recall sitting in bulkhead next to a couple who got upgraded to last row of FC only to lose their seat at last minute to a swap - lucky for them UA had a couple of bulkhead seats left at boarding, otherwise they would have been sitting somewhere in coach instead of at least Economy Plus seat.
Amazing how seemingly little things make for a more pleasant experience for pax with status and reducing headaches for employees @:-) ^

Piggy-backing off of what @dmodemd said, though this might be a new issue for AS, isn't this something that VX has had to deal with since delivery of their first A319? The standardized numbering system is a good idea, generally, but no matter how good or bad the seat map system or the software (clearly, Alaska's is lacking here), the challenges of swapping from an aircraft with more premium/extra seats to fewer are always going to fundamentally the same. Similar to when a 739 with a full F cabin is swapped with a 738. The folks in row 4 have to go somewhere when the new plane doesn't have a row 4.

Did VX (publicly) name all of their planes, and those are the names listed in the wiki? Or did FTers just name them for fun here? Or am I just completely misunderstanding what those are and they aren't names?!

It actually makes sense over the rest of the fleet to focus on the 319s.
Net add of premium seats:
319 +16 (+4F/12W) (overall +1 seat)
320 +10 (+4F/6W) (overall +4/1 seat depending on config)
321 +14 (+8F/6W) (overall +5 seats)
The 319 can add a lot of premium revenue seats with the new configuration compared to the 320 and 321. The 321s are pretty new....so i would imagine the focus could be the 319s then older 320s.....

Any insight?
N837VA - AS 1100 yesterday....return AS1101 was cancelled.
Then ferried BNA >> BUF at midnight...then BUF>>BOS in the middle of the night.
Now it says a ferry flight BOS >> LAX today....
If there were issues...shouldnt it have been ferried back to the west coast instead or even GSO?

Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere, but the Airbii after-retrofit seat maps are now posted on the AS website: Airbus Aircraft.

AS is running 3 planes through repaint at the moment, with the A319s having started as well. 628 should have come out of paint on Monday but is but is showing flights scheduled for the 11th, so it should be out shortly. Given the extra days in paint I'm wondering if a special livery was done (More to Love?) to coincide with the new interior. Meanwhile, 842 exits paint tomorrow and 629 enters.
