Will AS allow me to make a free change, <60 days out, if they change my schedule?

Will AS allow me to make a free change, <60 days out, if they change my schedule?
I have a trip scheduled for mid-Oct, boi-sea-bos, and AS changed the first leg to an earlier dep. time (2 hrs and 12 min. earlier) which leaves me with a 3 hour and 23 min. layover in sea. Will AS waive the close-in change fee (is it $125/person?) if I want to change the routing to boi-pdx-bos on the same day? I'll give them a call tomorrow if I hear favorable responses here. This a cash + CF + GGU upgrade fare. Thanks!

in my experience airlines are generally very accommodating about allowing reasonable rebooking after a significant schedule change; I've typically said that I had a commitment, or was dependent on public transportation, at either the origin or destination, and it's always helped to provide the phone agent the flight(s) that I wanted (which you're already prepared to do)

I have also had them force open U space for me when I've requested a change on a GGU upgraded flight due to a schedule change on their part and move me directly into it. No losing and then requesting a new GGU required.

Easy squeezy. I just told the rep. that I didn't have transportation available at the new time but I could get there early in the AM and catch the 7:43 to PDX. Short layover and then on to BOS.
I assumed this would work as I've done it with AA and UA but never with AS. ^

I checked before I called and there was U space avaii. for both of us on the PDX-BOS segment. No arguments or questions. Process took ~ 3-4 mins. after a 1 min. wait on hold. ^ This was the Phoenix call center.
