Note: Chart only allows contiguous US and Alaska as "USA", however, AS connecting flights to Hawaii/Canada/Mexico are allowed. No chart for USA-Europe (though in theory you could redeem SIN-USA or USA-SIN routing on SQ onestops involving Europe and get off the plane in FRA/MAN, pretty high price in miles though). Stopover in SIN not allowed on regional awards (Intra-Asia,including South Pacific) not touching US.
"North Asia" includes China (PEK/PVG) as per latest update by AS. South Pacific is Australia/New Zealand

No!, AS Saver fares booked into X are very restricted for seat selection in the back of the aircraft. If there are no Saver designated seats for selection, one is assigned at the gate.
OP: Is this a revenue or awards booking on SQ? You mention R & V fares which are not AS Saver fares.

Besides, an advantage award on SQ SIN-West Coast USA is 125,000 miles one-way in J. So what’s the problem?

Hordes of people buying AS MP miles to fly SQ F in 3, 2, 1...
ETA: looks like SQ also has a "South Pacific" redemption that I would bet is AU/NZ for 70k/145k/190k. As far as I know SQ doesn't fly to Fiji/Tahiti/Guam.

That’s frustrating. I just checked for a flight I am waitlisted for in January, and there isn’t any availability through AS. Since these just got loaded, maybe there are some kinks to work through? There seems to be more J availability than Y across random dates I looked, which is weird.

They might have to cap miles purchases even more after this... but F availability may be near non-existent anyway. Can’t wait for all of the TPG readers coming on here asking why they can’t redeem for SQ F after buying the miles!

Personally, the fact that long haul business class awards are available at all is quite surprising and welcome. If the availability on the AS website is correct, then Singapore Airlines is releasing inventory that is unavailable to star alliance partners. That is significant.
The pricing isn’t terrible, either. It’s in line with the mileage pricing of other airlines on a J flight to Singapore. It’s certainly no sweet spot for utilizing Alaska miles, but at least it’s not on par with some of the other new options (I’m thinking Aer Lingus).
Overall, this is a win for mileage plan, in my opinion, and I have to wonder about whether the expectations are reasonable of those who are already disappointed about the pricing.
