Bag service guarantee miles credited before the flight miles
Not complaining, just a funny first world problem I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
(The flight was last Saturday. I complaint about the late bag via email because I didn't see any AS agents at SJC bag carousel area. I didn't receive the reply email yet, but the miles are already credited earlier today.)

AS is slow to post their own miles (typically 3 days or so), so this makes sense.
Typically you get a voucher on the spot for a BSG failure, and you can redeem it immediately, so if you request miles, it's instant, and your flight miles will take a few days to post.
Nice to see SJC continuing to fail. Gate 16/17 I presume?

SOP... I routinely get miles/discount code deposited, and a day later an email with an explanation why... just what AS does.
