EQM Earning on Hainan Airlines (HU)

Newb question on EQM earnings for flying Hainan Airlines. Looking to book in R from LAX to CSX round-trip.

AS website says this class is entitles to a 100% class of service bonus........does this apply to EQM as well?

If I'm doing my math correctly I would earn approx:

LAX:CSX (6,900 miles * 2)
CSX:LAX (6,900 miles *2)

Total 27,600 EQM miles

Is this correct?

(Thank you in advance)

Yes. Both base miles and COS bonus miles count as EQM.

Anyone know if the new LAX-CTU/CKG flights earn EQM correctly? The flight numbers don't fall into the AS earning chart details.

It should eventually. This is one of the problems with AS's flight range restrictions is that when the operating carrier updates them, it often lags getting updated on the AS chart. Save your boarding passes! My preference is to take a picture of them as soon as I get them so I have a backup.

Maybe @missydarlin can look into this? Looks like HU 467/486 (CKG-LAX/LAX-CKG) and HU 469/470 (CTU-LAX/LAX-CTU).

I've forwarded the flight numbers to the loyalty team, so they can follow up with HU.

I flew LAX-CSX-LAX a couple of weeks ago and the miles posted perfectly (27,992 EQMs for the R/T and 45,488 RDMs). Quite lucrative when booked in D class. Very nice flights with empty adjacent seats, sweet flight attendants and food, food, food!

HAINAN AIRLINES Flight 7923 CSX LAX 6,998 15,746 22,744
HAINAN AIRLINES Flight 7924 LAX CSX 6,998 15,746 22,744

Some Hainan flights don't earn miles - beware & question

I took HU 468 LAX-CKG in paid J assuming I'd earn a good # of miles. When checking in, forgot to add my MP #. Just requested manual credit and agent told me only these HU flight #s earn:

0481–0499
7000–7399
7600–7999

Now HU is adding many new flights and it's conceivable if one doesn't fall within a set list published over a year ago.

Should I wait till when AS updates this list and hope my flight gets included or immediately take Hainan miles instead?

It is apparent that AS is clear about your flight's eligibility. I would say you are doomed.

HU also partner with EY, VA and their own FFP fortune wing. Perhaps you can credit your miles there instead.

Good call on EY, though I'll only earn 100% of miles flown. Both EY an HU's own programs offer retroactive credit within 6 months of flown date, so I wonder if there's any downside to waiting. In the rare event AS adds my flight # to the list, I'd be getting 300% of miles flown in AS currency.

Ouch!

Since this is a fair number of miles in a premium cabin, escalation may help. I'm not sure HU is trying to exclude this route. Booking class was eligible?

I got rejected by email first, and then pleaded on the phone, but to no avail. They keep pretty good records - are you referring to a more formal escalation then just calling in?
