You are flat out wrong. You can still access the data (its now yesterday's data), but the count is exactly what I said it was.....

The real world experience is that there's already been service reductions AND the existing service is not 100% likely to happen. Being routed through Seattle at the last minute is not what I call fun, and its ridiculous of Alaska to take its eye of the ball AND expand routes from SFO at the same time.

Today - so far - one flight from PDX is cancelled - from Boise - and its because the plane did not run yesterday. We'll see as the day goes on what this does.

Facts do matter.

Yesterday PDX showed the following cancelled and not replaced by identically-timed 9000-series flights:

Departures:
129p SEA
215p SEA
(A mainline flight went at 145p, so might have been a pre-planned replacement for these)
525p ONT
534p SMF
1000p SEA

Arrivals:
547a SEA
1049a SEA
1200p Santa Rosa
1240p SEA
925p SMF
1050p ONT

My real world experience is that PDX-SEA has become unreliable, particularly for day trips, and I'm booking that route on Delta until things appear more straightened out at AS.

Yep, 11 flights, which is exactly what said above to Asquared1, who calls me a liar. I didn't care to post the details, but you did, and that's nice.

525p ONT
534p SMF
1000p SEA (#9951 - 9xxx flight not on posted schedule - was anyone actually booked on it?)

Arrivals:

1200p Santa Rosa Airport operating on restricted service here still http://www.northbaybusinessjournal.c...ort?artslide=0

(Comments above in red) This is why I said real world is more true than counting and making assumptions. We can each draw our own interpretations, but it's difficult to know what actually went down on customer side.

Also, the discussion has been about pilot shortage and how AS was handling the modified schedule. The SMF and ONT cancellations seem to involve one crew/plane each. Were these crew shortage issues or mechanical ones (or something else)?

Agreed, and unlikely we'll know the disposition of affected passengers on those cancelled/replaced flights unless some are hanging around here. My real life experience this summer (warning: n=3) was that upon cancellation, I was rebooked on flights 2 or more hours later (in one case, with a replacement section for my cancelled flight on the schedule) and attempts to waitlist for earlier flights were either handled incorrectly or denied.

Replacement flights are theoretically an effective solution, but I think we can all agree that at a minimum the non-mainline schedule is currently disrupted. And my experience is that AS is not handing that disruption well.

This summer was definitely handled poorly. Been trying to figure out if that's still the case or if they have a much better handle on it now with schedule adjustments. Seems like they are moving flights back to QX from OO and cancels are usually OO, not QX. Not sure if that's by design to reclaim business for QX or if OO is having issues now.

according to the email I got an hour or so ago from QX CEO David Campbell, "... our operations have stabilized and we're on track to fly the published schedule."

I guess that settles that , but seriously... it seem like QX has stabilized, but now OO is having issues (albeit on a smaller scale).

I have an OO flight this evening (SJC-SAN, continuing on AS to BWI); neither of my two sources for tracking the jet — FlightAware and FlightRadar24 — show anything wrt the inbound flight ... on the desktop version of FR24, the same tail number that the app shows assigned to my flight is listed as operating two completely different routings over the course of the day, neither of which put it at SJC at the right time

The last two days the inbound for 3408 @ 7:59p was 3407 SAN-SJC. Gate assignment (#27) at SJC on AS flight status for both flights matches for today and flight is showing on time.

FYI:

I own a travel agency in Juneau and we use Sabre. I'm more than happy to look up the FLIFO (Flight Information) in Sabre for flights that get delayed or cancelled and can see the delay code/reason for delay or cancel. Just please PM me the flight and date (should be only yesterday, today, or tomorrow).

I can tell you my most recent experience, which was Portland to Seattle two days ago. While on a connecting flight from Los Angeles to Portland, my Q400 flight was replaced with an E75 in the 9000 range, and I got a surprise upgrade to first class.

the arrivals board shows SAN-SJC a few minutes early; FR24 finally has the tail number that operated SAN-OMA this morning, but OMA-SAN (which landed about 3 hrs ago) is still missing ... sometimes I really enjoy being analytical and trying to figure things out wrt avoiding complications, but sometimes it gets really frustrating
