Alaska MVP Golds don't pay change/redeposit fees. It's the most amazing benefit ever.

AS Mileage Plan has no mile redeposit fees, aside from the reservation change/cancellation fee inside 60 days (which, as mentioned, is waived for Golds and 75Ks).

As others have mentioned, award change fees are waived for everyone, up to 60 days before departure. MVP Gold and 75K can waive fees all the way to departure.

But the benefit goes even further than award tickets. MVP Gold and 75K have no change fees of any sort, even on paid fares. (If you change to a cheaper flight, the excess credit goes into an online account you can use for a future ticket.)

Does that include VX flights?

If booking through the AS site as a codeshare, then yes. Same goes for codeshares on AA metal.

But it definitely does not include bookings made directly with VX. I called, asked nicely, pointed out that I'm an Alaska Gold, but no dice. At first she said that they'd received instructions to allow Alaska Golds to have change fees waived, but apparently she had misunderstood the instruction. I wound up on the phone with a supervisor, who told me that they don't.

I really wish that Alaska had matched status back to VX as well. I understand that Elevate will be going away, but it was a frustrating experience.

I think it's up until departure. Might want to call/tweet to confirm
