ABQ-SAN new route, where is the plane from?

Just noticed AS added ABQ-SAN route. It might be there for a while but today is the first day I noticed it. The departure time caught me: 2:55PM is no where close to the other 4 ABQ routes. I assume 1 plane is SEA-ABQ-SEA, 1 plane is PDX-ABQ-SNA-ABQ-PDX and 1 plane is SFO-ABQ-SFO. But where is this 4th plane from? A phantom route?

Maybe its staying on the ground overnight and used for a morning flight. SAN-ABQ gets in 7:15pm i don't see any departure after that. SFO/SAN-ABQ aren't scheduled as same plane turns.

There was a thread on airliners.nut that mentioned there were a few "holes" in the schedule it seemed like with some of the E175 stations out further East like ABQ and MCI. Perhaps there's more to come?

+1 possible more flights. Just like the strange PDX-ABQ schedule before SNA-ABQ was out. However, ABQ now has routes to all 5 major areas AS serves: SEA,PDX,SFO area, LAX area, SAN. I couldn't think of any other possible west coast markets. Maybe DAL-ABQ? That is only reasonable route but dominated by NW and I don't see any chance for AS.... RNO-ABQ and BOI-ABQ also possible but very unlikely...

GEG-ABQ? Lol, I love trying to guess the next new routes.

Here's the E175 schedule. Looks like the planes flow: SFO-ABQ-SFO, PDX-ABQ-SNA-ABQ-PDX:

PDX-ABQ 1145a arrival
SNA-ABQ 515p arrival
SAN-ABQ 715p arrival
SFO-ABQ 948p arrival

===

ABQ-SFO 715a departure
ABQ-SNA 1225p departure
ABQ-SAN 255p departure
ABQ-PDX 555p departure

Doubt there's enough demand, and they'd have to get an E175 over there. My guess is you'll see another Bay Area flight from SJC or maybe something from LAX.

Too bad the fare rules don't allow an ABQ connection on a PDX-SNA fare :)

Or an additional frequency in an existing market...

BOI-ABQ? :p

Mystery solved. Another SEA-ABQ is there to build the perfect SEA-ABQ-SAN-ABQ-SEA cycle.

Good find.

Crazy ABQ is doing so well...

My guess is the plane comes from Boeing or Embraer.

I loved figuring these schedules out since I was a kid -- using the old paper timetables. Bottom line is, if the schedule is unbalanced, there WILL be a schedule change.
