Looks like QX is taking N620QX around the system as a test plane. Flightaware has it going to Santa Barbara, Oakland, and Ontario from Portland.

http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N620QX/history

That is probably a good indication of where QX is going to send it.

Also SMF. Unfortunately OAK and SMF are slated to keep the Q400s to PDX through the end of the schedule

Favorite FC seat (not including lie flats) in domestic F is 1A on the E175. Great ride when no companion.

And today it left to the cozy confines of the west coast with a trip from PDX to DFW and then to STL. And the next registration is N622QX according to planespotters.net

Lands at PDX at 4:55 then sits overnight, or does it go elsewhere initially? Not scheduled to for an evening run to SEA.

For the first couple weeks, it'll just be one aircraft in service so I believe all it'll be doing is the STL turn (and then sitting spare so a sub may be possible). As more aircraft enter service, the schedule expands.

Well the aircraft for the MCI-SFO-ABQ routing has to come from somewhere ;-)

How do the economics compare operating a Q400 vs. E175 on a relatively long QQ route such as PDX - OAK? It seems crazy from a passenger comfort perspective to continue Q400s on that route (or PDX - SMF) when E175s are now in the fleet and are so much more comfortable.

When they placed the order they said E175s have better economics on routes over 400 miles (https://www.flightglobal.com/news/ar...t-quar-421088/), and yet so far, all 400, 500, 600+ mile Q400 routes are remaining Q400 while E175s are planned exclusively for new routes. Perhaps that will start to change in 2018 when Q400s start being retired, but sucks for everyone on those routes in the meantime. Every time I've heard someone make a comment to FAs on the PDX-OAK Q400s, they've always had to apologize and say E175s are coming soon! No, they're not ...
