A little surprised to see continuing growth there instead of SFO

Except they're growing out of BOTH SJC and SFO?

Daily SJC-EWR is a wish come true for me, literally. I just don't want to jinx it.

Surprising that they don't put SJC on pause and focus new resources on SFO

I don't think there are available gates.

As someone lives only one exit away from SJC (Taylor exit on CA-87), I, for one, welcome our SJC overlord.

Sort of interesting to see what they will add...considering that they have many of their focus cities in the west well covered already. They seem to have a new found love affair with BWI, so it wouldn't shock me to see that come online. Would MCO be a possibility?

Can anyone that is flying out of SJC comment on where they park off-airport and on pricing? Last time I was flying out of there De La Cruz in Santa Clara was my choice, but they've been closed a few years. I have four upcoming Alaska trip from SJC starting at the end of the month.

SJC doesn't get the flow constraints SFO gets in bad weather (like my 4.5 hour delay LAX-SFO on AA a few weeks ago) so that might be a factor in ramping up there.

I tried the DoubleTree via Spothero.com for my last trip. I did a same day turn and they advised writing the pickup date/time on the printout next time.

My guess is a high-profile transcon or someplace south of the border. They wouldn't be making a big fuss ahead of time otherwise.

two successive posts ... obviously the first is slightly off topic wrt future AS routes/destinations from SJC, but it's totally hilarious if you regard the second as a reply to that q rather than an on-topic comment

ANC-Bay Area is one of the more obvious holes in the AS network, but I still think they're going either south or east from SJC in this round.
