Yeah, I always assume that the sign is out....I'm sure lots of PP folks don't even bother with the Alaska Lounge anymore and maybe that's what Alaska was trying to do, but I still wonder how much $$ their making without all those PP card swipes...I suppose their game plan is that the empty lounges will translate into more Alaska Lounge memberships.

LAX Alternative for 3 hours?

Arriving from Mexico early evening on a MVP upgrade U Fare. We have a PP membership via AmEx. Our connecting flight leaves for Sea 3 hours later. If Boardroom access is unavailable....are there any alternative lounges or places to hang out for a bit other than the main terminal. Thanks.

With that much time you could get down to the KAL lounge in TBIT. I've never been myself, but the reviews aren't that impressive...

I describe this as a meh lounge. With that much time, I'd go to In N Out myself

There's actually a Habit Burger in T6. Many find that better than In-n-Out.

Had one. It was decent enough. But there's something about watching those heavies land outside while biting into a nice burger

LAX sign out Saturday afternoon

At 5pm the sign was out. As I was standing around I overheard a couple who said that they would take the sign down at 5:30 pm. I went in at 5:30pm no problem.

For all you conspiracy theorists, I believe AS just has too many daytime flights and its NOT about them trying to increase boardroom memberships.

You can do a good 10minute walk without leaving security by taking the escalator DOWN near the Alaska LAX boardroom and then the tunnel to the TBIT terminal and use the KAL lounge which is about as nice as the AS lounge really. Only problem is the good 10+ minute walk

?

IYHO, what lounge in SEA is most likely to be open to PP cardholders at 9:30am on a Tuesday? We'll probably be landing at C/D/N. Is there a pattern?

Last option would be to try The Clubs at S & A. Have a 3 hour layover.

The Club at SEA... not sure @ others. Since the AL's have been sticking out signs, I've been sticking mostly to the AMEX CL.

Thank you, sir beckoa! The one at A was pretty decent when I used it in Jan.

I've used the A Club a few times and slightly prefer it to the Alaska Lounges, except that it's probably ten minutes to get from there to Alaska's gates (unless you happen to be out of A13/A14). Of course, it's not like either are special. Better beer in the AS lounges, though. Certainly if I'm on that side of the airport for whatever reason, I use the Club at SEA. Never been in the S one.

Capers D asked for a BP. Capers C did not. No problem visiting both tonight.

S is similar, but tends to get a lot more crowded with int'l departures. Brings back memories of the old S NW WC.

You're not old enough to remember that, are you?
