Alaska's new award charts for VX flights

Alaska has posted award charts for VX flights within continental US, to Hawaii, and to Mexico. They're competitive, but no real sweet spots. What do you think?

Transcons and longer midcons look pretty sweet.

I'm not yet seeing a separate chart for Virgin. Link please?

All AS charts are region-based, so look under different regions (new VS redemption chart is in the bottom for each region).

Use the MP chart, select Continental US (or Hawaii or Mexico) for "To" and "From", and the scroll down to the bottom.

In the awards charts, select traveling from "Continental US" traveling to "Continental US" for example, the VX award charts will appear at the bottom.

It's a rare day that I beat j.a.l.

I don't find any MCS options when trying to redeem.

Might be waiting to decide its future before adding to AS. Still available to redeem on Elevate.

Doesn't seem like you can mix VX with other partners on awards like you can with AS.

That is correct. Only AS mixes with partners.

I just got a roundtrip in F on Virgin America, SFO-DCA, using 120,000 Alaska miles. Award availability was very good.

That's a lot of miles, but this route 1) is very long, 2) is so nice in VX F (while it lasts) and 3) is not very competitive -- this itinerary would have cost about $3,700.* There are only two SFO-DCA nonstops each day, one on VX and the other on UA. DCA is vastly better than IAD if the District is your destination.

* I have no status on VX, so the $399 upgrade option six hours before departure is unlikely to be an option for me (elites get first dibs 24 hours prior).

If you keep checking, you might see that flight go down to 25,000 miles each way. I've been able to get a few transcons that way.

For VX F? Wow, that's a really good deal. Probably not on SFO-DCA, though. There are only 8 F seats each way on VX per day.

Not sure when you are flying, but F appears to be widely available on SFO-DCA at 25k each way.
