as I've mentioned upthread, I'm a watch-the-world-go-by-from-the-window-seat guy ... I'd take that flight in a heartbeat, especially on a clear fall or winter day

Ok, will be taking my first Q400 flights on Alaska/Horizon SEA-YEG tomorrow then back on 2/1. I will be in seat 1B for both flights. I carry on a backpack. Are there overhead bins on these planes and do backpacks fit in them? Won't have a seat in front of me to put backpack under.

More importantly bring earplugs or good noise canceling headphones. Done this route a few times and dress warm/dry for the outdoor excursions from the plane.
Just saying from experience.
Going to AB is always worth it. ^

Up to standard cabin size baggage, even if it doesn't fit, can use the a la Carte service and drop/claim planeside.
(Doesn't apply to the front row 1AB and 2CD(?losing memory here), but there's more room underneath the seat, assuming you have a willing seat mate, due to the metal supports are on the outside of the footwell with no middle support.)

Thanks. I have my Bose noise cancelling ear buds so good to go on that front.

If a full flight 1B is the way to go. Just got off a QX segment in that seat.
And yes- most backpacks fit overhead, might need a bit of squishing.
