LAX-ANC redeye

Hi all,

Stupid question from DL flyer (matched to Alaska recently). My wife and I are confirmed in First Class both ways (LAX-ANC, ANC-LAX) on the redeye. On DL we are used to pillows and blankets. I assume we'll get them as well on our LAX-ANC flight tomorrow, but can anyone offer any insight into this at all? If they're not adequate or comfortable we'll bring our own.

Thanks!

I've never once seen a pillow or blanket on AS in Y or F, but some folks report seeing them on red-eye flights....good luck, I would bring my own....the "testing" of blankets in F a long time ago must have not been very successful.

Blankets on all my redeyes. No pillows that I've seen but I've never asked.

ANC-LAX has blankets on redeyes only. I have a stack of them AS did a test a few years ago with blankets and blow up neck pillows (the horseshoe shaped ones) that I use ANC-SEA and other shorter flights. The original blankets are slightly heavier weight then the new ones, but they are still very nice.

Other long haul and mid-cons also have the blankets on red eye flights.

AS tried selling the blankets in Y when they brought them back but they did not sell well and that was stopped. Rumors were that the FA's did not like hawking for sale them which contributed to the failure. Not sure how true that is.

I can also confirm blankets in AS F for red eyes. They are a nice fleece blanket, great to bring home.

I didn't realize that they were a personal consumption, takeaway item.

It's sometimes announced.

They get 'one shot' on AS.

Maybe that explains why they haven't been added to F on non-red eye trans con and Hawaii flights.

If you have used it on the flight, they just throw it out. Not worth the cost of laundry and bagging for the next go around. Bagged ones get recycled if no one takes them with them.

Thanks, all - indeed, there were blankets in First on our LAX-ANC flight. We brought our own pillows.

They are not thrown out.
Each city that has a redeye arrival is having them cleaned and donated.
Most are going to homeless groups.

I am very glad to hear that. My point is that they not re-used by AS.
