Aurora Borealis from AS729 (IAD-SEA) on Fri evening 28 Oct ... the light show lasted almost two hours, from east of Billings until west of Spokane

That's a roundabout path from IAD to DCA going out to Spokane for the turn. At least on AS, it's 500 miles and not just 23 actual miles.

I'd love to see the Aurora Borealis in person one day. Cannot believe in 20+ trips to Fairbanks I've never caught them.

We had an incredible show on the same night flying from Seattle to Ketchikan (flight 69, I believe). I imagine much of the west coast got quite a performance...
