AS multi-city award travel
I have a KOA - SEA (stopover) SEA - BOS leg booked for 20k miles. I would like to charge the second leg to a flight that doesn't have saver space available but still has 20k coach available.
The website won't let me do this without paying an additional 10k miles (for 30k total). Is there a fare class rule that is preventing what I am trying to do?

You need saver space open (in W class) on SEA-BOS in order to keep the same price you've already paid. Otherwise it's going to reprice at the mid-level 30K price.

you need to find a date for SEA-BOS that is 12.5K, which is the saver level award for domestic lower 48. 20K is a mid-tier award, which causes the whole ticket to refare to 30K, since this is overall a HI->Mainland ticket.

Has anyone figured out an easy way to search for Premium awards, weeding out the mixed cabin fares? It's so frustrating and slow on Alaska's website and all of them are mixed cabin, if you select first or business. Help?
Thanks in advance

For CX/LAN flights I use Ba.com to search for flights, but sometimes they are just phantoms, so you have to call AS to verify. Lately CX has limited premium cabin, because of AA devaluation, EK had a recent devaluation and AF/KLM only has premium TATL flights minimum 6 months out. AS website will show which flight is Y/J/F for multi segments awards.
