N494AS at FAI

If anyone wants to see the newest AS jet in the fleet, N494AS, it appears to be sitting at Gate 2/Fairbanks this morning for longer than expected.

The new paint job looks awesome.

...it came in last night, and was supposed to leave early this AM but got swapped for a -400.

I flew on N549AS (new paint job) from ORD to SEA on Friday. Here's a pic of it.

Spied it for the first time Sunday am at the N Gates on its way to PHX. It's a sweet-lookin bird! ^

Here she is still at FAI. Kind of guessing it went mechanical.

...sorry I have no idea how to turn the photo 90-deg.

With 549, 494, and the original 563 repainted, additional repaints plus new deliveries mean we'll see the new livery all around the system fairly quickly^

Will be interesting to see if I spot one this month. Nothing on my trip earlier in the month (ANC BR folks looked @ internal page with the movements of the original bird and didn't see it crossing paths with me) but have ABQ this week and LIH next.

That's some mechanical trouble. Subconscious feelings about the new look?

I must admit, it's beginning to grow on me.

Yeah, aircraft might be rebelling against the new colors imposed upon it.

Nice, I'm flying up there tomorrow morning. Hope it's still there.

fwiw, this never used to work w AS but does now:

You can at least see out a day or so...and replace the last part of that url with any in the fleet.

Saw one of them in Seattle 2/8 as I was arriving from BOS. I think it's a great Livery update.

Looks like a ferry flight from FAI to SEA, then on to PAE, and nothing else sense, so something must have gone pretty wrong.

Nothing wrong with the plane. The issue in FAI was to do with the temporary aircraft registration. It's at PAE for Satcom and Wifi mods.

Oooo satcom?

Sounds like this thread just got even more interesting. I was using gogo yesterday on my mid-pac flight for the first 45 minutes before it died. Will be nice to have a sat solution if that's what this is ^
